What’s In It For Me?

BY JEFFREY D BROWN

You might be asking this question. You should. Each of us is number one. We have to be. Even if we profess to be 100% altruistic and dedicated to the cause of our choice, we can’t do any of that if we haven’t taken care of ourselves first. It’s a 101 thing.

I may get a little pushback on that because some will take me literally and assume I’m suggesting there are no exceptions whatsoever. But principles are not built on exceptions. They are the bedrock of our foundations and our foundational thinking, which is, by the way, something I talk a lot about in The Value Shot series right here on Gbiz.

So, the principle of making your own wellbeing a primary responsibility is on solid ground from my perspective. And you know, I think most people get that in their own way. But back to the original question. What’s in it for me, right here and right now? On Gbiz.

Well, the answer is… that’s sort of up to you. You can be a consumer. You can be a contributor. You can be a facilitator. You can be a reader or a writer. You can be creative or strategic. And those are just some of the possibilities. But in the end (or the beginning, whichever comes first), it absolutely, positively and without fail… must be a win/win. Mutually beneficial. It’s a requirement. What a concept.

And that is what’s in it for us. What’s in it for you? Let us know if you’re so inclined (or sitting, or standing). Operators are standing by.
